About The Position

Aon is seeking a Senior Financial Lines Broker to join their Financial Services Group (FSG) in Toronto. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of Directors & Officers (D&O) and related financial lines business for private and public company clients. The position requires managing end-to-end broking, structuring and negotiating insurance programs, collaborating with account management and sales teams, preparing client documentation, and building relationships with underwriters. The role offers exposure to sophisticated risks across various industries and corporate structures, with opportunities for professional development and career growth within Aon's national and global network.

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial insurance broking, underwriting, or a related financial lines environment, with exposure to D&O and related coverages such as Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, or Crime.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with an interest in understanding complex risks and insurance solutions.
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and client service.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, insurers, and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preparing client-facing materials, supporting negotiations, or presenting recommendations would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end broking for a portfolio of D&O and related financial lines accounts, including new business, renewals, and mid-term changes.
  • Structure, market, and negotiate insurance programmes with insurers to help achieve favourable terms, conditions, and pricing for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Management and Sales teams on programme design, strategy, and client presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality placement submissions, proposals, and client-facing documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and market partners while staying informed on industry trends, market developments, and emerging risks.
  • Support the use of tools, analytics, and D&O-focused solutions that provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Contribute to team initiatives and support a culture of collaboration, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
