About The Position

This position is responsible for providing strategic vision, leadership, and oversight of all broker and agency relationships on a national scale. This role cultivates, develops, and maintains high‑impact partnerships with C‑suite and senior leadership within agencies and brokers across the country. The BEO maximizes agent, broker, and affinity relationships across all product lines to achieve profitable growth, while ensuring strong alignment with Intact’s enterprise‑wide initiatives and business unit goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years of progressively complex, specialty lines insurance and marketing experience within Property & Casualty insurance Industry.
  • Independent agency experience desirable.
  • Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for national broker and agency relationships, financial/production objectives, and developing enterprise‑wide distribution strategies. Represents Intact to executive leaders within major brokers.
  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with C‑suite and senior executives. Acts as an internal consultant to Intact business unit leadership on agency strategy, market trends, and the company’s specialty product portfolio.
  • Drive growth and profitability through the creation and execution of strategic plans aimed at new business development. Identifies new agency opportunities and prospects, positively impacts retention, contributes to operating margin targets, and oversees agency appointments and terminations.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Intact’s business units to communicate broker strategies, secure alignment, and gain support needed to meet growth and profit objectives.
  • Oversee new appointments and terminations, collaborating with business unit distribution leaders to structure agreements. Monitors overall broker performance and provides performance insights to internal executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration by engaging with all business units to identify shared opportunities and drive enterprise‑level solutions.
  • Increase visibility, accountability, and coordination for the management of major broker partners. Leads recurring stakeholder meetings, mobilizes internal resources to support partner needs, and identifies additional products or services that may enhance enterprise relationships.
