About The Position

The Broiler Tech Advisor I provides technical assistance to producers caring for company birds, advising them on proper bird care and comfort. The position supports farm management and flock performance while helping ensure that producers and the company comply with production contracts and that poultry is handled in accordance with USDA and other government regulations. The role may also support the Broiler and Breeder Departments with weekly chick placement coordination and other duties as needed.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience.
Elementary computer skills, such as checking email, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
Visit farms and document bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings.
Monitor bird health and provide remedies when possible.
Monitor feed consumption and order feed when necessary.
Collect blood and fat samples on schedule when required.
Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
Ensure communication among the hatchery, feed mill, and live haul teams regarding contract farms.
Help ensure producers and the company comply with production contracts.
Help produce flocks of high quality and low cost through good performance.
Ensure USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.
Coordinate weekly chick placements with the Broiler and Breeder Departments as needed.
Perform other responsibilities as needed.
