About The Position

This position provides technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, supporting proper bird care and comfort. The advisor visits farms to assess bird comfort and health, manage flock and equipment settings, and recommend or provide remedies when possible. The role also supports farm operations and coordination among internal departments, producers, and government regulations. The position is based in Temperanceville, Virginia, and is assigned to first shift.

Requirements

At least 1 year of related work experience.
Elementary computer skills, such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedies when possible.
Monitor feed consumption and order feed when necessary.
Pull blood and fat samples as required.
Coordinate chick placements to farms.
Assist with catch schedules.
Ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding their contract farms.
Ensure compliance with the production contract to optimize flock quality and minimize costs.
Ensure adherence to USDA and other government regulations regarding poultry handling.
Work with the Broiler and Breeder Departments to coordinate weekly chick placements.
Perform other responsibilities as needed.
