About The Position

The Savannah Ghost Pirates are seeking a Broadcasting and Media Relations Intern for the 2026-27 ECHL Season. This internship offers hands-on experience in professional sports social media, broadcasting, and media relations. Interns will assist the Broadcasting and Media Relations Department with game-day communications and operations, and contribute to road game coverage remotely. The ideal candidate will have a passion for broadcasting, writing, video production, content creation, and a willingness to learn other assigned duties. This is an UNPAID internship.

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Housing in the Savannah area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Magnifi platform.
  • Experience with live-tweeting and social media content creation for sports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the set-up and tear-down of broadcast equipment and press box for all home games.
  • Collaborate with the Broadcaster and Manager of Media Relations to develop engaging video content for the fan base.
  • Assist in editing, producing, and posting post-game highlights for each game.
  • Help craft game recaps and player stories for the website and social media.
  • Supply game notes, media kits, and other materials for media members for all remaining home games.
  • Assist in organizing and managing a library of player & sales-oriented photos and footage, including categorizing, tagging, and ensuring accessibility.
  • Operate the Magnifi platform to cut clips in-game, both at home and on the road.
  • Live-tweet and post game clips on X/Facebook/Instagram for all regular-season games.
  • Conduct interviews with players and coaches alongside the Broadcaster and Manager of Media Relations before and after games.
  • Opportunity to join home broadcasts as a color commentator and/or intermission host.
  • Attend Community Events and assist the Broadcaster and Manager of Media Relations as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
