Job Summary/Description: Primarily responsible for news production systems. Tasks will include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all broadcast and news systems to ensure clean on-air and digital performance. The Broadcast Engineer provides support for the studio and field operations of the TV station with broadcast/news and production systems. Performs troubleshooting of hardware and software problems on all Broadcast equipment. Provides prompt service in support of the daily News Department operations and other station departments. Performs preventative maintenance as appropriate on equipment. Installs, updates, and documents needed equipment changes to support the operational requirements of the facility. Respond to, communicate, manage, and track on-air technical issues as they arise in a live 24/7 production environment with the appropriate sense of urgency. Collaborate with the Atlanta engineering management team to identify technical needs, design workflows/systems, and implement solutions. Follow the Atlanta technology management, company, and industry standards for installation and documentation of new systems. Perform some supervisory duties of the station's newscast automation operators (technical directors).
