About The Position

This is a long-term W2 position for a Broadband/WiFi Test Engineer located in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves performing comprehensive testing of broadband and WiFi networks, including CPE devices and network protocols. The engineer will be responsible for validating performance, executing test cases, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation scripts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Broadband or WiFi testing experience
• Strong knowledge of DOCSIS (3.0 / 3.1 preferred)
• Hands-on experience with WiFi router testing
• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
• Experience with packet capture tools (Wireshark)
• Experience testing CPE devices (Cable modems, gateways)
• Experience in test case creation and execution
• Strong troubleshooting skills in network connectivity issues

Nice To Haves

• WiFi 6E experience
• SNMP and TR-069 protocol knowledge
• Python or Shell scripting for test automation

Responsibilities

• Perform broadband testing across DOCSIS networks including cable modems, gateways, and CMTS environments.
• Validate WiFi performance (WiFi 5 / WiFi 6 / WiFi 6E) including throughput, roaming, band steering, and RF performance.
• Conduct CPE device testing including firmware upgrades, provisioning, and connectivity validation.
• Execute network protocol validation including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, SNMP, and TR-069.
• Perform packet capture and network troubleshooting using Wireshark and similar tools.
• Execute performance testing including latency, packet loss, and throughput validation.
• Develop automation scripts using Python or Shell scripting for test automation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify defects and support resolution.
