About The Position

United Fiber in Smithville, MO is looking to hire a full-time Broadband Service Technician. This position earns a competitive wage of $28.00/hour. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 12 months entry-level experience
  • Common knowledge of consumer computer equipment/router devices, telephone, TV and related home electronics.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Thorough knowledge of first-aid and CPR
  • Valid Missouri Class E driver's license
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds
  • Integrate business and industry knowledge into the job.
  • Ability to build working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
  • Ability to flourish with both independent and collaborative work.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school training and/or certification
  • One or more years of experience in customer premise installation of electronic equipment or low voltage wiring
  • Proficiency with CAT 5 and COAX wiring

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers in their homes installing fiber fast internet, TV, and phone systems.
  • Assist customers with any questions or issues they have with our products or services during the installation process.
  • Troubleshoot effectively and efficiently using knowledge of field services and network operations.
  • Be proactive about anticipating current and potential customer needs.
  • Develop own skills by attending regular team meetings and training.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
