Requirements

  • 5+ years of bridge/structural engineering and design work experience.
  • BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (MS in Structural Engineering preferred).
  • PE license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, industry-standard bridge design and analysis software, AutoCAD or Microstation, and familiarity with Open Bridge Modeling is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of state Bridge Design & Construction Manuals is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and emotional intelligence skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of bridges and structures for roadways, highways, and transit systems in Massachusetts and the New England region.
  • Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering deliverables, including detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and analyses.
  • Perform complex structural analyses and prepare design calculations to ensure project success.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated design systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters and junior engineers working on the same project.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, offering guidance and input on performance to help them grow professionally.
  • Drive continuous improvement through creative thinking and innovative approaches to engineering challenges.
