About The Position
Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Bridge Structural Engineer to their Chicago team! This role involves completing bridge and retaining wall design plans, assisting with various phases of transportation projects, and providing general structural engineering services for municipal, county, and state clients. The position requires travel within Illinois service areas and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience completing Structural Engineering design plans and studies
- Proficient in MicroStation design software
- Ability to travel throughout Illinois service areas (own transportation)
- Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
- Licensed Structural Engineer preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete bridge/retaining wall design plans following IDOT, Illinois Tollway, other state DOT, and AASHTO standards
- Complete/assist with IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients
- Lead/assist with a variety of structural engineering studies in Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida and Texas
- Complete general structural engineering services for municipal, county and state clients including inspections, evaluation reports, and plan reviews
- Attend client and in office meetings as required
