Bridge Project Engineer I

This position is responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. The role also acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.
Requirements

- Ability to analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Ability to perform design computations
- Ability to design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
- Ability to develop construction cost estimates
- Ability to assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
- Ability to prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
- Ability to manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
- Ability to develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
- Ability to prepare proposals as required
- Ability to attend meetings with clients
- Ability to coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
- Ability to lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Perform design computations
- Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
