This position is responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. The role also acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.

  • Ability to analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
  • Ability to perform design computations
  • Ability to design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Ability to develop construction cost estimates
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
  • Ability to prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
  • Ability to manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
  • Ability to develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
  • Ability to prepare proposals as required
  • Ability to attend meetings with clients
  • Ability to coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
  • Ability to lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
  • Perform design computations
  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
