About The Position
SLR Consulting (Americas) is hiring a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (PE) for its Bridgeport, Connecticut office. The role leads bridge inspection teams, coordinates field operations and logistics, and oversees bridge assessments from field measurements and data analysis through technical reporting and repair recommendations. It combines fieldwork with analytical and leadership responsibilities.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- NBIS certification: NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges; NHI 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training is required if the NHI 130055 certificate is older than four years.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Five years of bridge inspection experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Lead inspection teams and coordinate personnel, equipment, and logistics.
- Prepare in-office support for field inspections, including developing inspection documentation forms.
- Take field measurements, evaluate existing conditions, and document findings.
- Analyze data obtained in the field.
- Write technical inspection reports.
- Prepare structural analyses and ratings.
- Perform calculations, including load ratings.
- Develop recommended construction documents for repairs to field conditions requiring interim repair, such as flagged conditions.
