About The Position
SLR Consulting (Americas) is hiring a licensed Professional Engineer as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for its Bridgeport, Connecticut office. The role combines fieldwork, analysis, technical reporting, and leadership. The Team Leader guides inspection teams, coordinates field operations and logistics, and oversees bridge assessments from preparation and field measurements through analysis, ratings, and repair recommendations.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- NBIS certification: NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges; NHI 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training is required if the NHI 130055 certificate is older than four years.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Five years of bridge inspection experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Lead inspection teams and coordinate teams, equipment, and logistics.
- Prepare in-office support for field inspections, including developing inspection documentation forms before fieldwork.
- Perform field measurements, evaluate existing conditions, and document findings in the field.
- Analyze data obtained in the field.
- Write technical inspection reports.
- Prepare analyses and ratings for the structures being inspected.
- Perform calculations, including load ratings.
- Develop recommended construction documents for repairs of field conditions requiring interim repair, including flagged conditions.
