About The Position

Parsons is accepting applications for a Summer 2027 Bridge Engineering Internship in Boston. The intern will develop engineering technical skills and knowledge through direct mentorship and collaboration with the company’s infrastructure design experts, gaining experience with major area and regional projects. The position is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, which plans, designs, builds, and modernizes infrastructure intended to connect and protect communities, promote economic growth, enhance mobility, and improve sustainability and resiliency.

Requirements

Prior transportation or structural engineering coursework.
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's and/or master's degree program in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Interest and ability to work on multiple transportation or bridge projects at once.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High level of knowledge of MS Office tools.
CAD proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and applicable engineering software.

Nice To Haves

EIT.
Prior internship experience.
MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

Determine creative and innovative methods and solutions for complex road or highway engineering problems, selecting efficient and economical approaches.
Ensure designs comply with approved federal, state, and local agency requirements and accepted industry practices and procedures.
Prepare specifications, estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Work on a project or organizational team, or as a design engineer on intermediate- to large-scale projects.
