About The Position

AECOM's transportation team in Greenville, SC is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer to work in the bridge/structures group. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. The role involves building analytic and design skills, conducting engineering design, calculations, sketches, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. The engineer will use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems, creating innovative bridge designs using MicroStation and OpenBridge Designer, and developing an awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision. Responsibilities also include researching alternate solutions and design options, communicating and collaborating with the design team, supporting the development of work products like specifications and drawings, following detailed instructions for design, and developing details and an awareness of QMS procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Basic knowledge of word processors and spreadsheet tools (Such as Microsoft Word and Excel).
Experience in CADD/drafting is strongly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Builds analytic and design skills

Research alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research, code review.
Communicates and collaborates with full design team and others.
Supports and assists in the development of work products such as specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics.
Follows specific, detail instructions and set of technical approach for design.
Develops details, edit specific and an awareness of QMS procedures.
