Bridge Engineer I
About The Position
At HNTB, this role assists with producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. The Bridge Engineer I performs research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team. The position applies engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria to projects of varying size and complexity, and uses technical knowledge to support the execution and evaluation of project designs. It develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. As a team member, the role contributes to successful delivery of a diverse range of projects for HNTB clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD or other software.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Support preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Assist with preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
- Assist engineering teams with organizing and administering design files.
- Support engineering teams with research, data collection, field investigations, project development, and design tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
