About The Position

HDR is hiring a Bridge Designer/EIT within its Transportation Business Group. The role contributes to the design of transportation infrastructure, including bridges and related structures for highway and railway projects. Work may include steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental and cable bridges, box culverts, and interchanges. The position applies structural engineering and detailing techniques, performs load calculations, supports geometric layout and quantity development, selects standard design procedures, and develops structural details using specialized software. The role may also participate in bridge inspections and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
• Commitment to being an active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates without an EIT will be placed in a Design Coordinator job code and expected to obtain the EIT for career progression.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Experience with MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and LARSA.
• Prestressed concrete design experience.
• Experience in bridge or structural design.
• Local candidate preferred.

Responsibilities
