About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Bridge Design Project Engineer IV for employment in the Orange, CA. office. Requirements

  • BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A current PE license in the State of CA.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (or related field); advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • 6+ years of bridge and other transportation structures (retaining walls, culverts, OH signs, etc.) design experience with Caltrans project delivery and other California / U.S. West Coast agencies.
  • Experience with Caltrans and AASHTO bridge design practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.
  • Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, such as IBC/CBC, AREMA, MRDC, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
  • High proficiency with software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, PTC MathCAD, CSiBridge and/or MIDAS Civil?
  • High proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)

Responsibilities

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
