About The Position
Seeking an experienced bridal seamstress for an independent contractor role focused on custom fittings and alterations for brides. You will work one-on-one with brides throughout the entire alteration process, from initial fittings to final adjustments. Bookings will be provided through our platform, allowing you to set your own schedule and rates within guidelines. This role involves customizing wedding gowns, handling various types of formal wear, and providing a reassuring and knowledgeable experience for brides.
Requirements
- Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed)
- Confidence working with high-value gowns and the patience to fit them properly
- Strong customer-facing presence
- Reliable workspace with adequate space for fitting and steaming
Responsibilities
- Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns
- Customize gowns for each bride: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications
- Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference
- Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown
- Walk brides through what is possible with their dress, what timelines look like, and what to expect on the day
