About The Position

Atlas is currently looking for brick masons to work in Boise, ID. for approximately 1 month, possibly longer, to complete a new construction buildout. A brick mason constructs, repairs, and restores structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and natural or artificial stones. They are responsible for reading blueprints, mixing mortar, laying materials to exact alignment, and finishing joints to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality.

Requirements

1-year previous experience.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel for an extended period of time.
Ability to work from various heights.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift over 50 lbs, and stand, bend, or squat for extended periods.
Technical Skills: Strong mathematical skills to calculate angles, dimensions, and material costs.
Hand-Eye Coordination: Precision in handling trowels, applying smooth, even layers of mortar, and setting materials seamlessly.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to determine layout, dimensions, and material requirements.
Prepare work areas, erect scaffolding, and mix mortar or grout to the correct consistency.
Lay bricks and blocks in specified patterns, using levels and plumb lines to ensure the structure is perfectly straight and level.
Use hammers, chisels, or power saws to cut bricks and blocks to fit specific corners, curves, and edges.
Perform restoration work on existing structures, including replacing damaged bricks and applying fresh mortar (tuckpointing).
Strictly adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and general construction safety protocols.
