About The Position

The Brewery Representative will oversee an account base in the greater Sacramento area, Chico and surrounding counties of Northern California. The role focuses on developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts within the industry. A high emphasis is placed on increasing the availability and visibility of products in new and existing accounts by using consultative sales tactics. While listed as 'working remotely', this is a field-based position requiring the candidate to live within the specified territory to visit accounts.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
  • An intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
  • Valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
  • Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
  • Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale frequently

Responsibilities

  • Sell the entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio
  • Focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores/convenient stores)
  • Identify major accounts not currently selling BBC products and develop a plan to establish business
  • Improve conditions and merchandise accounts by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase brand visibility
  • Partner with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts
  • Conduct waitstaff / bartender educations, beer tastings and evening promotions
  • Work conditions vary greatly day to day due to customer facing nature of role
  • Periodic requirement to work weekends and holidays to support business needs
  • Occasional travel for meetings and trainings
  • Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers
