About The Position

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth remotely by managing relationships with retail accounts not typically visited by outside sales teams through daily outbound calls, email, and virtual communication. This role focuses on increasing distribution, growing package sales within existing accounts, opening new opportunities, and supporting wholesalers in achieving sales goals. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, consistent follow-up, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a high-volume sales pipeline. von Trapp Brewing is part of the von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort, a 2,600-acre resort owned and operated by the von Trapp family. The brewery was created in 2010 by the family that inspired The Sound of Music. Based in Stowe, Vermont, von Trapp Brewing specializes in authentic Austrian-style lagers brewed with pure Vermont spring water sourced from the property, with inspiration from "A little of Austria, a lot of Vermont." Requirements

Minimum one year of sales experience.
Beverage alcohol, craft beer, or distributor experience strongly preferred.
Previous inside sales, telesales, or account management experience preferred.
Experience working with wholesalers or beverage distributors is highly desirable.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Experience with Lilypad, VIP, Concur, or similar beverage sales software is a plus.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliable internet access.
Occasional evening work may be required to support promotions, meetings, or distributor needs.
Excellent work ethic, passion for craft beer, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence buying decisions over the phone.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building abilities.
Self-motivation while working independently in a remote environment.
Comfort making a high volume of outbound sales calls.
Ability to prioritize multiple accounts while maintaining detailed follow-up.
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Proficiency using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributor representatives, sales managers, and key retail accounts.
Conduct 40–60 outbound sales calls each day to retailers and decision-makers.
Increase distribution of existing von Trapp Brewing packages and identify opportunities for new placements.
Execute monthly sales priorities through proactive account outreach.
Educate accounts on von Trapp Brewing products, pricing, seasonal offerings, and promotional opportunities.
Maintain detailed notes and account activity within CRM software following every customer interaction.
Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for incremental growth.
Collaborate closely with distributor sales teams to ensure execution of company objectives.
Build a reputation as a trusted and preferred supplier through responsiveness and consistent communication.
Develop a thorough understanding of wholesaler operations, including inventory management, ordering processes, incentives, reporting, and sales execution.
Maintain knowledge of competitor brands, pricing, promotions, and market trends.
Grow revenue within assigned territories through increased points of distribution and expanded package mix.
Manage a structured daily call schedule while maintaining high activity levels and quality customer interactions.
Achieve daily call goals of 40–60 completed account conversations.
Execute sales campaigns supporting new products, seasonal packages, displays, and promotions.
Increase volume within existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
Maintain accurate customer records and update CRM following each interaction.
Work collaboratively with distributor managers to communicate priorities and execution expectations.
Provide organized daily, weekly, and monthly recaps to wholesaler management and von Trapp Brewing leadership highlighting: Sales wins, Distribution gains, Account opportunities, Customer feedback, Challenges requiring follow-up.
Track and communicate progress toward monthly objectives and territory goals.
Respond to customer, distributor, and internal communications within 24 hours.
Submit all required administrative reports accurately and on time.
Participate in weekly sales meetings and strategy sessions.
Continuously monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and customer needs.
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to sales.
