About The Position

McMenamins Anderson School is Hiring for Brewer. McMenamins is a family-owned company in Oregon and Washington serving our own handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside good, honest pub fare. These duties include, but are not limited to; ordering of materials used in the brewing process, analyzing and monitoring of beer fermentation cycles and other aspects that are critical to the production of beer, maintaining records in a clear, legible and organized fashion, monitoring and forecasting of beer usage. A brewer must be able to control the elements that affect the production of beer (temperature, cleanliness, sanitation, proper storage and handling of hazardous chemicals and compressed gasses, etc.), keep tools and equipment functional and well maintained, and be able to use any devices implemented in the production of beer. Being a brewer can be hard physical work and requires mental agility and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. A brewer must also have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management. All McMenamin employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history, and products. Other duties are to be completed as assigned by the Brewery Manager and the Manager on Duty.

Requirements

  • Previous brewing experience or education is required
  • Thursday through Sunday availability a must

Responsibilities

  • Ordering of materials used in the brewing process
  • Analyzing and monitoring of beer fermentation cycles and other aspects that are critical to the production of beer
  • Maintaining records in a clear, legible and organized fashion
  • Monitoring and forecasting of beer usage
  • Controlling the elements that affect the production of beer (temperature, cleanliness, sanitation, proper storage and handling of hazardous chemicals and compressed gasses, etc.)
  • Keeping tools and equipment functional and well maintained
  • Using any devices implemented in the production of beer
  • Performing job in a safe manner and reporting any safety concerns to Management
  • Keeping current on all company events, history, and products
  • Completing other duties as assigned by the Brewery Manager and the Manager on Duty
