Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate with a strong interest in substance abuse/recovery to provide SUD and limited primary care services. The SUD-designated provider will be embedded at Brewer Medical Center's primary care practice on Wilson Street in Brewer. This role focuses on a medication-first model for treatment for opioid use disorder, offering rapid, low-barrier access to medication for opioid use disorder and supporting patients toward long-term recovery. In addition to SUD work, supplemental primary and acute care will be provided for patients not already established with a primary care provider. The SUD-designated provider will have the option to maintain a small patient panel if appropriate. The provider may also flex to other PCHC SUD locations in the Greater Bangor area and to Medical Outreach services based on organizational needs.
