About The Position

The incumbent is responsible to promote and educate WIC prenatal and breastfeeding moms on the benefits of breastfeeding, and support breastfeeding throughout the duration after a mom chooses to breastfeed. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in all aspects of WIC operation including but not limited to; Client confidentiality, documenting/recording of all contacts with Clients and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all WIC Clients. Responsible for attending local, regional, and national WIC in-service /training including nutrition education, breastfeeding and other training needed to ensure adequate and efficient operation of the WIC Program.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• 1 year experience in WIC
• Must be either breastfeeding or have prior experience as a breastfeeding mom
• Must be a current or former WIC Participant (Client)
• Advanced computer skills i.e., Micro Soft Office
• Must be enrolled in Santo Domingo Pueblo
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
• Possess leadership/team building skills and abilities to work cooperatively with other program personnel
• Willingness to institute best professional practices
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Some travel may be required.
• Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required.
• Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Maintain eligibility for Santo Domingo Pueblo liability insurance.
