About The Position

Adagio Health Inc is looking to hire (1) one full-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for its Armstrong & Indiana, PA offices. Breastfeeding Peer Counselors at Adagio Health are a part of the WIC team with their main goal being supporting and educating pregnant and breastfeeding participants. Breastfeeding Peer Counselors have breastfeeding experience and are trained in additional breastfeeding education to help answer questions and concerns participants may have about breastfeeding. A day might include texting with a mom to check in, counseling a participant during their WIC appointment, documenting interactions, and providing breast pumps or supplies to those in need! United States military veterans bring unique skills and experiences that align closely with the responsibilities of a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. Your service in roles such as Hospital Corpsman (Navy), Health Care Specialist (Army), Family Readiness Support Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or Community Services Coordinator demonstrates your ability to educate, support, and advocate for others in high-stakes environments. Transferable skills from military service include: Peer counseling and mentorship (e.g., through family support programs, resiliency training, or battle buddy systems). Patient education and health promotion (common in medical, public health, or preventive medicine roles). Logistical coordination (e.g., managing supplies, organizing outreach, or facilitating resource distribution). Crisis management and compassionate communication (roles requiring empathy under pressure). If your background includes community engagement, care coordination, or empowering others-whether in a clinical, administrative, or operational capacity-we value your dedication to service and encourage you to apply. Highlight how your military experience prepared you to support families with the same commitment and precision you brought to your duties. Adagio Health proudly recognizes the leadership, adaptability, and teamwork veterans bring to our mission.
