About The Position

The Breast Imaging Care Specialist is a Full Time, Regular position working 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday at various locations depending on department need. The Breast Imaging Care Specialist must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, technologists, and other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; tactful and diplomatic communication; and maintaining strict confidentiality is required. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • One year minimum experience in the medical field and knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology required
  • Current CPR/BLS required
  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
  • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.

  • Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test which includes Marijuana.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality customer service by: Effectively show compassion and empathy to patients at all times Listening to patients’ and referring providers’ requests for exams, times and locations Asking the appropriate questions to get information needed to schedule exams Relaying exam specific patient preparatory information as appropriate Completes phone call with a professional closing
  • Coordinates requested exams with individual radiologist’s skill sets and schedules appropriately to maximize equipment utilization by time and location, review open slot
  • Maintain clean, well-stocked reading rooms, including cleaning monitors, charging mouse and ensuring Hologic is up and running.
  • Prepares the reading room for the Radiologist by assuring the SCWS is up, mouse is charged and the day’s screenings are ready for reading.
  • Print schedules for radiologist and the department
  • Ensures radiologist has all paperwork needed for each exam, including previous reports, history sheets, referral slips, and pathology reports from prior biopsies.
  • Ensures that all current and previous studies are digitized, pushed and in presentation state for electronic reading.
  • Push studies from PACS to Hologic.
  • Scan appropriate paperwork into PACSscan (foreign reports, path reports etc)
  • Scan paperwork into Medicalis.
  • Reviews exam and history forms for proper information prior to presentation for reading.
  • Calls abnormal reports to referring clinician on request.
  • Appropriately prioritizes STAT exams.
  • Remains available for Radiologists requests and shares this responsibility with other mammography staff in their absence.
  • Calling and scheduling patients for additional imaging.
  • Scheduling with interpreters as needed and requesting interpreter for exam.
  • Pulling prior exams from Carestream.
  • Calling for outside comparison studies and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Once arrive prepare paperwork, push images and merge for reading.
  • Triage multiple calls on multiple phone lines.
  • Pulling studies from the mammography screening and Breast MRI queues.
  • Transports procedure patients to day surgery (SHIC), (HF).
  • Deliver breast specimens to the lab (SHIC).
  • Monitor daily logs to ensure proper follow up of patients.
  • Consistently and proactively monitor and respond to email.
  • Continually maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Stock beverages for radiologists on site.
  • Rotate to other shifts and locations as needed.
  • This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland’s customers.
  • May be required to complete a course in back safety prior to working with patients
  • Honest, pleasant manner, and good personal hygiene

  • Valid Washington State Drivers Licenses and proof of insurance

Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $18.97 - $28.46
