About The Position

This is a full-time, 1st shift position for a Breast Debone Machine Technician. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:12 am to 4:30 pm, with some weekend work required. The role involves cutting, trimming, and fabricating products in a production line setting, working with sharp instruments, and maintaining good personal hygiene. The technician will process product using tools, manual labor, and equipment in accordance with USDA and company standards, observe equipment operation, maintain a clean work area, assist others, and adhere to all company policies including animal welfare guidelines.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to work in cool temperatures.
• Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.
• Ability to multitask and work quickly.
• Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations (Less than 3 feet apart).
• Must have good communication skills.
• Good hand and eye coordination required.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A MACHINE TECH TEST.

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Food or production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and fabricate products in a production line setting.
• Lift, push, and pull product in a hot and/or cold assembly line environment.
• Work with sharp instruments.
• Maintain good personal hygiene.
• Process product using tools (to include knives), manual labor, and equipment provided in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s Company product standards and procedures.
• Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observe equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
• Observe all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
• Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks.
• Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits and drive those habits throughout the organization.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
