About The Position

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Prepares various breakfast foods for the Hy-Vee Market Grille, including hot foods, cold foods, and heat-and-eat varieties. The Breakfast Cook is responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to recipes and specifications. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, teamwork, and adherence to sanitation and company guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to write identifying information.
  • Ability to request supplies orally or in writing.
  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors food levels in hot cases and refills as necessary.
  • Prepares items for upcoming shifts.
  • Ensures understanding of all aspects of the kitchen.
  • Maintains proper sanitation procedures and keeps the work area clean and neat.
  • Adheres to personal hygiene and dress code guidelines.
  • Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Is knowledgeable of all menu items and able to take guest orders.
  • Provides direct customer service when necessary.
  • Orders product and supplies or notifies department head of needs.
  • Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
