About The Position

The Breakfast Cook contributes to the overall success of the culinary team by getting our guests started each day with a hearty breakfast. Working overnight, the Breakfast Cook is responsible for producing all required items as per contract scope daily, while maintaining a clean and enticing display of products during service. The Breakfast Cook will demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills. The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities: All meals and accommodations are provided Travel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in the Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Dryden and surrounding area Private room with cable television Access to Wi-Fi Access to laundry facilities and detergents Access to a gym and common areas

Requirements

  • Previous experience providing a hot breakfast service in high volumes is required
  • Current Food Safe certificate is required
  • Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
  • Must have the ability to complete a Criminal Background Check
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Climb ladders or stairs
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time
  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
  • Perform work with arms at full length
  • Work with arms above shoulder height

Nice To Haves

  • Large-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
  • Red Seal or other certifications is an asset
  • Experience in accurately producing weekly inventories
  • Experience with producing baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
  • A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking breakfast for guests at site
  • Ensuring consistent quality of standard in over-all food preparation as per clients' requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
  • Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety, and sanitization in the kitchen
  • Complying with food safety regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
  • Cleaning, washing and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
  • Preparing adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set and budget guidelines
  • Following proper storage and rotation of all food supplies
