About The Position

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Prepares various breakfast foods for the Hy-Vee Market Grille, including hot and cold foods, and heat-and-eat varieties. The Breakfast Cook is responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, teamwork, and adherence to sanitation and company guidelines.

Requirements

Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
Ability to interpret instructions.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Ability to write identifying information.
Ability to request supplies orally or in writing.
High school or equivalent experience.
Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

Preps a variety of ingredients and assembles dishes according to recipes.
Monitors and refills food in hot cases.
Prepares items for upcoming shifts.
Ensures understanding of all aspects of the kitchen.
Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures.
Maintains a clean and neat work area.
Adheres to department and company guidelines regarding personal hygiene and dress.
Reports to work on time and when scheduled.
Knowledgeable of all menu items and able to take guest orders.
Orders product and supplies when necessary or notifies department head of needs.
Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
