About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Breakfast Attendant for the Hilton Garden Inn in Redondo Beach, CA. The purpose of this role is to greet and seat all guests, ensuring a quality dining experience through warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance. The attendant will assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation according to standard recipes for the bistro and banquet rooms. Key responsibilities include greeting guests with a positive attitude, preparing and presenting food items, organizing and maintaining a clean service area, cleaning tables, and adhering to all health codes. The role demands professional and consistent guest interaction, the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically, and ensuring food selection availability and adherence to operating hours. The attendant will also monitor food and beverage deliveries, ensure portion controls, provide a safe working environment by complying with safety programs and health regulations, and maintain sanitation laws and safety standards in the kitchen area. Inspections of food and beverage outlets for proper storage, cleanliness, and inventory rotation are also required, along with assisting in daily, weekly, and monthly food and beverage inventories. The position requires being an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive team member, acting professionally and maturely, being understanding and friendly with coworkers, and demonstrating self-motivation and time management skills. Maintaining open communication with all departments, communicating pertinent information, responding positively to new ideas, and accepting feedback are crucial. The attendant must be available to assist other departments in emergencies and perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements

High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent.
Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.
Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
Must possess basic computational ability.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
Be knowledgeable about state regulations regarding health policies.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Food handler's permit if required by state law.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain Alcohol Awareness training, if required by state law and/or by the brand standard.

Hotel Banquet experience preferred
Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
Ability to prepare and analyze date, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparation, cooking and presentation of food according to standard recipes for the bistro and banquet rooms.
Responsible for greeting every guest/customers with a smile and positive attitude.
Prepare and present items, organize and maintain a clean service area, clean tables and area, and follow all health codes.
Ensures that all guests are dealt with in a professional, consistent manner.

Ensures entire food selection is available daily and hours of operation are strictly adhered to.
Monitors and inspects all food & beverage deliveries, ensuring portion controls are adhered to.
Provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis.
Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
Inspect food and beverage outlets for proper storage, neatness, cleanliness, side-work and rotation of inventory.
Assist with daily/weekly/monthly food and beverage inventories.
