About The Position

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for receiving, preparing, and presenting all buffet breakfast food items to ensure that appearance and quality of food meets and exceeds established product and presentation standards. This role ensures adequate food supplies are available for hotel guests throughout continental breakfast and replenishes as appropriate. The attendant also conducts inventories, initiates orders, and checks deliveries of all required food and beverage items. They maintain cleanliness of the breakfast buffet area and food preparation/storage areas, ensuring all kitchen, pantry, and buffet equipment is in good working order. Monitoring and maintaining food operations to ensure conformance with health, sanitation, and temperature standards is crucial. Additionally, the attendant develops relationships with guests, promotes hotel features and benefits, and performs opening, pre-work, and closing duties. Safely storing food and beverage items, cleaning equipment, and complying with company policies and safety standards are key responsibilities. The role also involves reporting suspicious occurrences, maintaining cleanliness and safety of work areas, attending meetings, and performing other directed tasks.

  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform opening, pre-work, and closing duties for the breakfast meal period.
  • Ensure food and beverage items are safely stored and secured.
  • Clean all food equipment, china, silverware, glassware, and service ware after each meal period.
  • Comply with all established employee lifting, hazardous materials treatment, and accident reporting procedures.
  • Assist other team members as necessary and appropriate.
  • Inform the Food and Beverage Manager of all guest comments and complaints.
  • Maintain proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas.
  • Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
