About The Position

The Settlers Inn is a historic inn in Hawley, Pennsylvania, dedicated to providing a superlative guest experience. We are seeking a breakfast and brunch cook to prepare high-quality, homemade breakfast dishes for our hotel guests. The role involves reproducing existing recipes to exact specifications, creating new breakfast dishes, and maintaining our reputation for impeccable breakfast and brunch offerings. The successful candidate must be able to start work in the early morning hours and will collaborate closely with the hotel management team as part of a talented hospitality team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred
• One year of relevant experience
• Knowledge of food safety and handling requirements
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent customer service focus
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Formal culinary training is highly desired
• Professional dress, speech, and behavior

Responsibilities

• Prepares breakfast and brunch following established recipes and procedures and maintains a high quality and consistent product
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
• Monitors product levels and re-stocks as required, rotating goods to reduce shrinkage
• Orders product from approved vendors to maintain inventory
• Other duties as assigned
