About The Position

Responsible for repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing electrical equipment from a single circuit breaker to a complete substation. This role involves a variety of tasks related to electrical equipment maintenance and repair.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and repair.
  • Ability to maintain good housekeeping of designated work area.
  • Ability to use measuring tools (multimeter, vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs.
  • Ability to travel to some job sites if needed after being trained.
  • Capable of lifting 75-pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature.
  • Mechanically inclined, must have your own tools.
  • Detail oriented, great attitude, team player, well organized.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Strong electrical skills.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communications.
  • Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.
  • Good time management skills; be able to multi-task.
  • Able to work at fast pace.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans electrical parts.
  • Removes and reinstalls electrical components on circuit breakers with documentation.
  • Reads breaker evaluation and work order and performs the service the customer is requesting.
  • Disassembles circuit breakers.
  • Works safely on stored energy mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs circuit breakers.
  • Reads manuals and follows detailed instructions on adjusting equipment.
  • Reads schematic, point-to-point and one-line wiring diagrams.
  • Tests and troubleshoots electrical wiring.
  • Electrically operates a circuit breaker from wiring schematic (charge, close and trip).
  • Operates test equipment relevant to breaker type.
  • Takes electrical parts off a breaker to recondition them (aux switch, motor, relay, coils).
  • Makes sure electric parts work properly before putting them on a breaker.
  • Supports onsite and emergency jobs when needed.
  • May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned.
