About The Position

The Break Press Operator / Fabricator manufactures traffic control metal components and enclosures using processes that include cutting, punching, deburring, and bending with press brake machines. The role involves setting up and operating fabrication machinery, checking parts against specifications, and responding to work orders accurately and promptly. The employee is expected to work effectively with minimal supervision and conduct themselves professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Relevant sheet metal experience.
• Must be certified to shop standards in at least two of the following: punch press, brake press, robot welder, mill, and lathe.
• Ability to read engineering and specification drawings.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to a satisfactory level.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to use shop mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodation available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering and specification drawings to obtain fabrication information.
• Set up and operate fabrication machinery, including turret punch presses, manual and robotic brake presses, CNC mills, CNC lathes, and similar equipment.
• Verify that parts conform to specifications using precision measuring equipment.
• Respond to work orders in a timely manner, emphasizing operational accuracy and support.
• Conduct oneself professionally through appearance and conduct.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Communicate and work effectively as a team member.
• Use shop mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry as needed.
