About The Position

The Bread Packaging Associate slices and packages bakery products for delivery to stores. The role includes labeling and packaging products, checking product appearance and quality, and distributing finished products to stores. The associate operates bread and bun slicers, bag clippers, and label printers, and follows safe and sanitary food-handling policies to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses.

This production role works under close supervision and involves clearly defined, repetitive manual tasks. The position starts at 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Tuesday off. The schedule may change based on production and holidays. The starting wage is $18.00. Duties may vary with production needs, and the associate may occasionally work in other production areas. Other duties include cleaning work areas, washing equipment, and taking out trash.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• No experience required.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work with deadlines in a production-line environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends and holidays may be required.
• May be required to lift or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; may need to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Requires constant bending and stretching and good eye-hand coordination.
