About The Position

AHC Hospitality represents a diverse array of hotels, restaurants, and resorts, providing exceptional experiences for guests. This role is with the Amway Grand Plaza. The primary job duty of a bread baker is the actual mixing and baking of bread dough. They are also responsible for food preparation of bread starters and mixes, helping keep track, ordering, and stocking of ingredients and flavorings. The employee will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the shop, their workstations, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous Culinary experience
  • A solid display of safe handling knife skills

Nice To Haves

  • Serve Safe certification is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Related experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Mixing and baking bread dough
  • Food preparation of bread starters and mixes
  • Keeping track of, ordering, and stocking ingredients and flavorings
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the shop, workstations, and equipment
  • Understanding orders clearly and utilizing basic culinary skills
  • Working swiftly and efficiently
  • Performing any function around the bakeshop
  • Delivering high quality work
  • Knowledge about different baking equipment and ingredients
  • Remaining balanced and working under emergency situations and pressure
  • Working well in a group
  • Standing in hot places all day long
  • Attending departmental meetings
  • Following AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures
  • Actively working, always looking for ways to assist guests and going above and beyond to provide guest service
  • Ensuring the quality and level of service that the General Manager, Guest Care Manager, Manager on Duty and Guests expect is excellent and follows company standards and policies
  • Using other AHC hotels and staff as resources
  • Completing all daily responsibilities/cleaning task lists
  • Following and fulfilling duties given by senior chefs
  • Keeping stations clean and well prepped to execute daily tasks
  • Keeping the bakeshop clean and sanitized
  • Fulfilling duties on time so as not to disrupt guest experience
  • Using ingredients in the right proportion and being aware of the exact procedure of preparation of breads
  • Reading and understanding event orders and filling out destination forms
  • Following hotel green policies
  • Ensuring trash/recyclables are taken out
  • Following AHC guest service standards
  • Actively working with department staff, while following all departmental rules
  • Completing any other additional responsibilities asked by General Manager, Guest Care Manager, Manager on Duty or Supervisor
