About The Position

Coordinates and tracks program projects across Region 2 Parish Health Units within the Office of Public Health’s (OPH) Bureau of Clinical and Regional Operations (BRCO). Supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary by managing high-priority initiatives and providing strategic coordination on special projects within Region 2 Parish Health Units. Serves as a strategic project manager for budget-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines in Region 2 Parish Health Units. Facilitates communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met. Delivers safety trainings to staff in Baton Rouge, promoting understanding of organizational processes and procedures. Acts as the times administrator for Region 2 BRCO employees. Captures and share institutional knowledge to support continuity and operational consistency within the Office of Public Health/BRCO. Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and federal guidelines related to program and budget activities. Monitors and maintains equipment service contracts on equipment such as printers, facsimile machines, renewal and updating maintenance agreements, contacting service providers, and verifying work completion. Assists with travel arrangements, authorizations, and expense accounts. Supports and serves in coordination and management of Emergency Operations during activation and as needed between events. Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience with project and/or program coordination.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up.
  • Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
  • Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience with project and/or program coordination.
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience developing and maintaining process and procedure documentation.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
