About The Position

We are currently hiring across multiple shifts for the Brazer role at our Largo, Florida facility. In this role, you will perform brazing and testing operations to ensure the integrity of copper components and refrigerant systems, contributing directly to product quality and performance. This is a hands-on technician role with a strong attention to detail and a passion for precision work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety documents, and technical instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to complete JCI Brazer training within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial environment with exposure to heat and non-toxic fumes
  • Ability to work with machinery, moving parts, cranes, and vehicles
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, with ladders or scaffolding
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on hard surfaces
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, and reach overhead
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior brazing, soldering, or welding experience
  • Military experience or technical training in the armed forces

Responsibilities

  • Performs brazing operations to join metal components (primarily copper) using filler materials, ensuring strong, leak-free connections that meet quality standards and production requirements.
  • Join coils, headers, and valve pack materials following detailed instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop orders.
  • Inspect brazed joints and perform first-article inspections to ensure quality standards.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S).
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage, SOPs, and JSAs.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals.
  • Communicate effectively regarding safety, quality, process, or equipment issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and problem-solving opportunities.
  • Use computer systems (ERP, Microsoft Office) to track production and inventory.
  • Support overtime, cross-training, and movement between departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
