About The Position

The Brazer performs brazing tasks on standard and non-standard assemblies, including headers, U-bends, fittings, and distributors. The role follows job specifications, routers (work instructions), and manufacturing schedules, and works with minimal supervision. The Brazer validates and inspects work, troubleshoots issues, reports defects or incorrect instructions, and maintains safe, efficient, clean, and orderly work areas.

Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
Ability to use a tape measure and work with decimals and fractions.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow routers (work instructions).
Ability to use basic handheld tools.
Basic knowledge of brazing functions, procedures, tools, and machinery.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work standing throughout the shift.
High school diploma/GED, or two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Read job specifications to determine appropriate torch tips, flux, brazing alloys, and other material requirements.
Follow routers and complete tasks according to manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
Obtain First Piece Validation from the designated validator on the shift.
Inspect pieces at intervals, including 100% inspection when required.
Troubleshoot parts and methods and determine corrective action when necessary.
Report defective materials, questionable conditions, and incorrect routers to the shift supervisor, engineering, or quality control.
Place scrap in the designated bin for the work area.
Follow standard work methods to support efficient production.
Practice safe work habits.
Clean the brazing station or area daily.
Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly condition as part of the 5S housekeeping system.
