The Brazer I position, under direct supervision, involves brazing together components using a torch or brazing machine and flux. This includes guiding the torch and rod along the joint of work pieces to heat them to brazing temperature, melt the braze alloy, and bond the work pieces together. The role also assists with setting up equipment, selecting the appropriate torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy based on data charts or work orders. Additionally, the position performs a variety of assembly, fabrication, production, and operator tasks.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Some experience brazing CU/CU on an assembly line
  • Basic understanding of data charts, specification diagrams, and work orders
  • Able to determine required equipment and settings
  • Requires precision control and dexterity
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
  • May be required to take related training and/or pass skills tests required for this level
