Clow Valve- Brass General Laborer
About The Position
Clow Valve's Metal Casting Facility has an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Brass General Laborer. The company is a leading manufacturer of water valves and fire hydrants and is a division of McWane Corporation. The Machine Shop and Metal Casting Facility utilize state-of-the-art technology in both shops concerning safety, quality, and production. The Clow Machine Shop has been ISO 9000 certified since 2002. The Foundry is recognized as a Voluntary Protection Program Merit Site as awarded by OSHA. Clow Valve is looking forward to operating in and benefiting Oskaloosa for the next 100 years.
Requirements
- Heavy lifting/carrying greater than 50 lbs.
- Frequent lifting greater than 40 times per hour.
- Bending/ twisting/ and standing for greater than 8 hours.
- Ability to read and write and understand training and instruction.
- Ability to work in extreme heat.
- Must be able to utilize and work around moving machinery including ladle, crane, and forklift.
- Must be able to utilize proper PPE including: respirator, metatarsal guarded boots, eye protection, hearing protection
Responsibilities
- Set up stationary/portable Hi-Vac system
- Attend to furnace operations
- Clean excess sand spillage
- Clean up of tools and area
- Other duties as assigned
