About The Position

The Occupational Health Nurse assiduously manages the health and welfare of Clow Valve by proactively caring for employees, promoting Clow as a premier place to work. The role involves managing employee wellness, records management, health and wellness strategy, and advisory functions. Key performance indicators include 100% compliance on Medical Surveillance, accurate medical charting according to OSHA record keeping standards, and completing 4 health & wellness initiatives per year. The nurse will cultivate trusting relationships, assess well-being, connect employees with resources, decrease disability claims and injuries, treat on-the-job injuries, schedule follow-up care, educate employees, perform health audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA and government regulations. This includes annual hearing tests and random drug screens. The role also involves partnering with HR for new employee onboarding, maintaining medical records, charting incident investigations, medical findings, and SEG results in Cority, and checking/recording information for AEDs, trauma bags, First-aid kits, and PPE. Additionally, the nurse will assess medical surveillance needs, develop and implement wellness programs, schedule SEG testing, plan and execute mock codes and PEO triage trainings, enhance medical safety knowledge, assist with risk assessments, coordinate health and wellness promotion campaigns, advise employees on wellness standards, and serve as a medical advisor to committees like MRT, Ergonomics, PEO, VPP, and Wellness.

Requirements

  • Registered Nursing Degree or Iowa Nursing License equivalent
  • CPR/First Aide Certification
  • Microsoft Office Suites & SharePoint knowledge a plus
  • Strong written, organization and verbal communication skills
  • Record Management experience
  • Cority knowledge a plus

Nice To Haves

  • 3 to 5 years practical nursing experience
  • Experience in Occ Health w/ OSHA regulations and documentation knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Human Resources team to ensure accurate and timely onboarding of new employees.
  • Create and maintain all medical records/profiles.
  • Accurately chart/log all incident investigations, medical findings, SEG results, and related visit updates in employee files and Cority.
  • Perform/maintain regular checks on all AED, trauma bags, First-aid kits, and PPE pertaining to nursing and accurately record all information.
  • Assess the medical surveillance needs of the workforce.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor onsite wellness programs.
  • Cultivate trusting associations among the organization to cohesively schedule/perform all SEG testing.
  • Plan, communicate, and execute mock codes and PEO triage trainings.
  • Enhance medical safety knowledge among Clow Valve.
  • Assist supervisors/safety committees with conducting risk assessments.
  • Coordinate health and wellness promotion campaigns and activities.
  • Advise employees on wellness standards and tactfully assist supervisors in enforcement of standards.
  • Serve as a medical advisor to committees including MRT, Ergonomics, PEO, VPP, and Wellness.
