About The Position

As a Branded Environments Designer I on our team, you will provide assistance throughout the design process under routine guidance. You will contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. You will begin to understand branding concepts (including interior architecture, print graphics, environmental graphics, and signage and wayfinding) and their integration in the built environment. You will provide design support to team members, participate in preparing design plans, design strategy, storytelling, color plans, and schedules. You will support the development of plan diagrams, sections, and elevations. You will learn to manipulate basic design elements and apply principles of design such as form, scale, color, texture, pattern, balance, and proportion. You will assist in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations. You will participate in site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements. You will use a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organized, timely, and consistent way. You will self-check work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and compile data for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. You will proactively ask questions and express curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large. You will provide support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities. You will participate in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups. You will assist with coordination among partners and consultants. You will communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others. You will keep open communication within the team and with the designated team leader.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience.
  • A professional degree in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Full knowledge of Adobe Suite - Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of UX/UI, human-centered design, 2D/3D production software's like Revit, conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper; Visualization tools such as Enscape, and VRay.
  • LEED GA or WELL AP within 6 months of hire.

  • The annual pay salary range for this position in Chicago is between $55,000 and $62,000.
