About The Position

Perform basic to advanced technical structural design support for midstream oil and gas projects independently and under the direction of experienced structural designers and engineers. Project assignments will include design tasks for large facility foundation and steel systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, hard worker who can work with some guidance from experienced designers and as a member of a team.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Solid organizational skills required; must be able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Designer I: High School diploma or equivalent and previous experience with CAD.
  • Designer II & Designer III: 3-6 years of progressive design experience or equivalent
  • Designer II & Designer III: Broad computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office, AutoCAD®, CADworx Structure®.

Nice To Haves

  • Community college and drafting/CAD courses are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Able to annotate and layout more complex foundation and steel designs using pre-developed tools with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.
  • Ability to assist with and review drawings of other less experienced designers and markup as necessary to represent a functional design with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.
  • Ability to do more complex 3D modeling using pre-developed tools with some direction from experienced designers.
  • Independently lead structural design portion of small projects.
  • Broad understanding of foundation types/steel shapes and correct application of them.
  • Basic understanding of industrial components and equipment.
  • Demonstrate full understanding of workflow from beginning to end of a project.
  • Coordinate with other design teams to ensure continuous flow of information concerning other engineering disciplines affecting the design execution of a project.
  • Demonstrate ability to functionally communicate technical and administrative project/task details, including correspondence via emails and general documentation.
  • Organize and prepare drawings for delivery in a timely manner, maintaining security and confidentiality
  • Understand and be able to operate Navisworks Freedom/Manage/Simulate, allowing for basic integration between engineering and design, and lead model reviews as necessary for assigned projects.
