About The Position

The Brand & Product PR Specialist plays a critical role in driving high-impact, earned media coverage for both Hyundai and Genesis. This is achieved through strategic planning and effective execution across key areas: content ownership for auto shows and events; national press fleet and vehicle operations; media and influencer relationship management; event logistics, and comprehensive media monitoring and reporting. The role also includes back-end tasks including budget tracking, and accurate invoice management. Travel (6–8 times annually) and a valid Class G driver’s license are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of experience in a Public Relations or Journalism function (required)
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or college diploma with a concentration in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other Communications subjects being ideal
  • Valid Class G driver’s license (required)
  • Advanced PowerPoint and presentation design skills (required)
  • Strong understanding of PR measurement and media trends (required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (required)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills (required)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines (required)
  • Experience managing budgets (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of the Canadian automotive and media landscape (preferred)
  • Familiarity with SAP Concur (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage media bookings, communications, and day-to-day operations for Ontario and British Columbia press fleets
  • Support product PR initiatives across English Canada for Genesis
  • Own and develop content for press conferences and product launches
  • Serve as the primary contact for sports media in English Canada
  • Contribute to the development of internal and external communications materials (press releases, pitches, presentations)
  • Travel independently to support media events and press conferences (approximately 6–8 times annually)
  • Handle daily media monitoring and reporting
  • Lead the preparation of monthly media coverage reports for internal stakeholders
  • Track, analyze, and report on press fleet utilization
  • Manage departmental budgets to ensure financial accuracy and accountability
  • Manage legal, procurement, and vendor-related processes
  • Maintain Hyundai media and public websites with updated coverage and news
  • Support logistics for all PR media events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure PR activities align with company policies
  • Assist in managing agency and vendor relationships
