About The Position

Dow Jones is offering a 10-week summer internship program designed to provide students with real exposure to how Dow Jones operates. Interns will work on meaningful projects, gain hands-on skills, and make an impact on the business. The program includes mentorship, connections with senior leaders, and professional development sessions. Interns will join a diverse global community, fostering experiences and networks that extend beyond the program. The goal is to create a supportive, engaging, and fun environment where work is valued and growth is prioritized. The Brand Design Intern will join the Marketing team, assisting in the creation of new brand identities and supporting cohesive design experiences across digital, print, and spatial touchpoints. This role involves working with senior designers on projects for various Dow Jones brands, including The Wall Street Journal, WSJ Events, MarketWatch, Barron’s, IBD, and others. The ideal candidate is resourceful, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced setting, gaining exposure to high-visibility projects while also handling essential day-to-day tasks.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of digital design principles and fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Figma (or similar tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce polished, professional work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, and proactive—able to ask the right questions and seek solutions independently.
  • Open to feedback and eager to learn.
  • Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program.
  • Graduating in Dec 2027 – July 2029 (U.S.).
  • Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (now or in the future) in the country where applying.

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of UI/UX, animation, or print is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating new brand identities from the ground up (logos, color palettes, typography, art direction) and brand guides, moodboards, and toolkits to communicate with stakeholders, partners, and brand ambassadors.
  • Support senior designers on projects that deliver full brand experiences, including visual concepts and mockups, digital and media assets (emails, ads, landing pages, digital signage, social graphics campaign collateral, podcast art), and print and spatial applications (event materials, invitations, onsite design recommendations).
  • Help build and maintain design systems (typography, composition, hierarchy, color theory, etc.) in Figma, including templates, guidelines, and scalable components.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure design consistency across multiple channels and formats.
  • Conduct competitive research to spot trends, best practices, and opportunities for brand differentiation.
  • Translate research findings into clear insights that guide creative strategy.
