About The Position

As a Gensler Brand Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading design and collaborating with fast-paced interdisciplinary teams of architects, interior designers, graphic designers, illustrators, digital designers and more to deliver a wide variety of graphics, branded environment, signage, and way-finding projects. You will also demonstrate exceptional vision, oversee projects from conception to completion, and ensure successful project outcomes. Your work will span a diverse range of practice areas. Through these efforts you will be contributing to Gensler’s mission to create a better world through the power of design.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Interior Design
  • 10-15 years of experience as a hands-on designer and project leader, thinker, design advocate and client relationship steward for projects
  • Passion for design with the ability to push new ideas, manage diverse projects, and collaborate with extremely talented creative leaders
  • Thoughtful and flexible; able to put oneself in another’s shoes and see things from multiple perspectives
  • Excellent organization, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills that work well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills; able to juggle multiple tasks, clients and resources
  • Expertise in planning, documentation and management of environmental graphic, wayfinding and signage projects in the context of the built environment
  • Expertise with architectural construction documents, scales, sections, plans and elevations; proficiency in drawing in scale
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modeling programs a plus
  • Working knowledge of motion graphics software, digital video editing, or other skills related to designing for and creating dynamic content

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team of architects and designers to design graphics, branded environments, and signage and wayfinding solutions that connect people to place for diverse client projects
  • Conduct or lead research for the organizational, cultural and physical context surrounding a project
  • Encourage teams to generate multiple initial concepts and develop viable, documented design solutions that help solve a variety of problems for our clients
  • Lead teams to integrate messaging, color, imagery, type and composition into two and three-dimensional built environments
  • Prepare or lead final documentation and production-ready artwork for 3D/EGD, print, or digital applications
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams and other graphic designers across multiple industries
  • Facilitate great design results by cultivating and maintaining positive client and team relationships
  • Perform as point of contact on projects for clients, vendors, and teams
  • Manage design workflows with multidisciplinary project team workload for multiple projects
  • Co-development project scopes, budgets and workplans
  • Support and lead the development of proposals and collaborate in the strategic development of new business; continually to learn and draw from Gensler’s Brand Design portfolio
  • Engage and stay connected with internal team members, project managers from other areas, representatives from accounting and external vendors
  • Lead creative efforts on client projects, developing concepts and design presentation strategies
  • Deliver thoughtful, creative design packages that satisfy client expectations, goals, timelines and budgets
  • Exhibit design leadership through projects, learning and initiatives to achieve high quality design deliverables
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy
  • Lead in a manner that inspires the trust, respect and well-being of the team
