About The Position

SERVPRO is a nationally recognized and trusted brand, with a long history of excellence in restoration and disaster response. The Brand Communications and Public Relations Manager supports SERVPRO�s public relations efforts by managing both proactive and reactive media activities, tracking and reporting brand sentiment, and assisting with crisis communications. This role partners closely with the Director of Communications to protect and promote the SERVPRO brand while supporting franchise and headquarters needs. The ideal candidate has proven experience in media relations, strong writing skills, and the ability to work calmly and strategically in fast-paced situations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, headquarters communications, or media relations.
  • Experience managing both proactive and reactive media situations.
  • Experience working with C-suite level executives.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual PR plans and key message frameworks aligned with SERVPRO�s strategic priorities.
  • Establish and build ongoing relationships with key publishing editors (e.g. Fox, Dotdash Meredith, etc.)
  • Identify, pitch, and secure positive and proactive media coverage for SERVPRO initiatives, sponsorships, and franchise success stories.
  • Respond to media inquiries with timely, accurate, brand-aligned responses.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, FAQs, and talking points.
  • Provide media coaching and implement structured media training workshops for designated spokespeople (HQ and franchise).
  • Manage relationships with third-party PR vendors.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice, style, and messaging across all communications.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, brand sentiment, and market trends.
  • Track and report on PR campaign performance to refine future strategies.
  • Utilize social listening tools to identify emerging brand conversations and opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen SERVPRO�s public perception.
  • Serve as a key team member during crisis situations, supporting message development, media response, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Draft and maintain holding statements, FAQs, and approved talking points in partnership with the Director of Communications and Legal.
  • Coordinate with necessary internal teams to help ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Monitor traditional and social media during active issues to assess sentiment.
  • Assist in after-action reviews to capture learnings and improve response for future events, when necessary.
  • Maintain crisis communication protocols and ensure readiness for rapid response.
  • Develop and manage the CEO (and senior leadership) communications ensuring consistent and compelling executive messaging (e.g. CEO-to-CEO newsletter, CEO press, CEO social media, etc.).
  • Draft speeches, talking points, and interview preparation materials for leadership team.
  • Support executive communications needs to align leadership voice with SERVPRO�s brand strategy.
  • Establish thought leadership opportunities through proactive media placements, industry recognition, and executive visibility.
